Yesterday the news broke that the Fire & Security Event (NEC) has been postponed until April 2021, following the decision from IFSEC which has now also been moved to May 2021.
Obviously, Coronavirus is the reason and safety must come first but it has made us think. Usually our calendars would be stacked out across the year with various events that we attend as both delegates and exhibitors.
A number of questions have been raised;
Have we missed the events?
Will we be rushing back to them next year?
What actual business do we as an SME gain from the events as exhibitors?
Is it a vanity project in terms of being seen at the events of do we really raise our profile?
Could our time and marketing budget be better spent in other ways?
Clearly a lot of questions and naturally, like most businesses we are using this time to analyse all aspects of our business and the way that we behave both now, and in the future as we emerge from the pandemic.
